Definition - Colours

Colours:
The property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or emits light.

My own definition:

Light being reflected and emitted in certain ways; resulting in an attribute of things.

The background of this picture is a big contrast to the main focus, which in this case is the pot of plant. Using this method, the photographer was able to accentuate the pink petals and the dark green leaves.

This picture is particularly interesting because the piano is completely covered in paint - a range of colours are used in order to affect the viewer's mood and give off a playful atmosphere.

The colours in this picture are quite bright and neon. The dark grass is barely visible and this has been done deliberately so that viewers pay attention only to the jars and their contents. Also, as you move along the picture, the jars become like bright dots scattered all over and the variety of colours make this picture even more exciting.

The colours in this picture are limited on purpose to create a mysterious scene. The dark wall adds to this idea of suspense and by making the colours blurry, this picture gets more and more puzzling.
