The element of tone is used in Photography in order to show the difference between shades that can be found in one colour. Similar to form, tone can be used to add a 3-dimensional element to a normal 2-dimensional picture. By using the correct tone, a specific mood can be set in the viewer. Dark tones are mostly associated with mystery or sadness, whereas light tones are associated with joy, etc. The use of light is also important; in the pictures above, light is used in smart ways, especially when the sky in used in the background.
